Man I remember the first time I played TF2 back in like 2013, I joined some random upward server and I was... unexpectedly good. Not great, just surviving and killing a bit more than i should have for a brand new player. I figured out the commands pretty quickly and I tried to call a medic with full charge to uber me, but no matter how hard I tried, he wouldn't pop it or move in. At some point I realized I was playing rather late, and all of the human players had logged off except me, meaning I had been fighting against bots for probably most of my time. It was very soul crushing realizing I only started doing anything of value once I was the only one actually playing.
Lol there's a good reason they hotfixed that. Being able to go mach speed as heavy with no real downside made heavy into an absolute MONSTER. Yet, still pales in comparison to release tomislav, so...
now thats gonna leave a mark

the reason why the wrap assasin ball does inconsistent damage is because (at least I think) it creates a small explosion, an that means the max damage could by increased by multiple enemies

Really I want the not auto balancing if there's less than 60 seconds left, stop targeting parties for auto balance, and stop trying to auto balance if 1) the difference in players between teams isn't greater than 2 and 2) it needs to wait maybe a minute or two to see if it can populate the empty slots and not initiate the balance if players are connecting. That and it'd be nice if it was less likely to target defending engies and medics

current sandman is too weak and there are two ways to fix it. way 1: remove the reduced max health for a more fitting downside like slower swing speed and remove the nonexistent slow effect to focus on the damage of the ball. way 2: replace the slow effect with marked for death which combos well with the cleaver

I remember playing (16 years ago) on Lotus Clan's 24/7 vanilla Dustbowl server and in the evenings it was always full up with regulars, to the point that if you wanted to get in you bought a monthly membership to be able to get in. It was a great community of regulars who knew each other and talked continuously to each other, and there were no ads at all. Then "Competative" and "Matchmaking" came out and the community servers practically died overnight. The only community servers left now are so full of BS, RTD, Bots, Cheaters, and abusive admins that TF2 is painful to play anymore. Pity Overwatch 2 is just worse. The original Overwatch was at least an escape from the swamp that TF2 became. But this kind of BS is the norm in MMOs and PvP games, especially the F2P ones. I've practically stopped playing anywhere near what I did in the glory days of TF2 and Overwatch. I just don't need the ulcers they give me these days.
How does that not cause an integer overflow?
I started playing in 2016, but now I'm under the belief that matchmaking and quickplay quickly ruined the game's image for something made in 2007. I'm always playing on community servers these days. And yet I'm still annoyed at the fact that some servers still bring up the MOTD whenever you die (which happens to be the same exact one you see on many servers with this one video), and seemingly this only happens in TF2 and not other Source MP games. In fact, I'd be much happier if everyone went back to playing a 2007 build of the game since Valve won't revert it back to that version for the main game for us.
Been playing TF2 since 2010/2011 and I gotta disagree straight up, quickplay had its flaws but its genuinely better than what we have now. Plus day 1 of matchmaking being added immediately resulted in spinbotting appearing in the game lol. There has literally been zero upsides to the matchmaking system.
